One of Chicago, IL's finest and one of my favorite bands, Ratboys, took over the steamy Rialto Theatre in Tucson, AZ on July 19th, 2024 for their opening slot while on tour for The Decembrist. This would mark my 4th time seeing Ratboys in the last 3 years so we were excited to experience the new album, The Window,  live for the first time! The show was incredible, with a mix of old and new songs. The crowd showed up early and Ratboys performed great for them. I was happily surprised to see a pretty packed floor for the opening act which in this case, deserved every ounce of applause given.Â
The set had a great mix of old and new songs. Morning Zoo, Go Outside, Black Earth, WI, and one of my all-time favs, Elvis is in the Freezer, the Rats gave the new and old fans a standout performance, that in the last 3 years we have been following Ratboys around, has never wavered from. I think that is one of the main reasons I found myself listening to this band years ago. No matter the stage, acoustics, or venue, Ratboys always has a stellar show. We spoke to Julia at the merch table just a little after the show and hopefully will have a follow-up interview with the band to share with you all in the coming weeks/months!Â

As always, we are appreciative to everyone in Ratboys and on the Ratboys team for the opportunity to cover this show! We look forward to many Rat shows to come!Â
